Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment by adding new attachments. They can also boost its stats base or add additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.
Usually items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, while items with strong bases such as Eth titans don't change in their stats following being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, gathered in loot, dropped by enemies or as rewards from missions or chests. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.
To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, players will have to select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade stats and the components or materials required for the upgrade.
There are three types of universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be put in any kind of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are exactly the same as jewels but have higher bonuses and cannot be placed in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding a Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If a player upgrades a gathering tool and replaces the glyphs by a different one the previous one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, with the exception of inscriptions which can be freely swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from previous versions in some important ways. Gear is now classified into tracks and each item is able to be upgraded so many times before it's "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, but the materials required do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the effect of those items, rather than dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.
This allows the item to receive new upgrade components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It resets at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its maximum level it is able to receive affixes that will boost its attributes. The number of affixes available is contingent on the type of item it is. For instance an uncommon or rare weapon with a normal base will have no more than two affixes for it, whereas legendary armors can have up to eight affixes for it.
Each upgrade requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on the type of item at its current level and what slot it is located in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.
If an item does not get to its maximum level The NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to a different person and then re-infuse the item with a different set of upgrades. The process can take as long as two hours and will cost the same amount of materials however it will have lower chances of success.
Engineers will employ a level to compare the height of the building with a known location, such as an existing benchmark. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method makes sure that buildings are constructed to a high level of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can dramatically increase the strength of an item, damage, or other attributes. This can be accomplished through the menu for items or by clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling is costly and should only be done in very rare instances.
Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another item of the same type. Recyclable items come with a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an item determines the amount of level that has been filled.
In the past, certain upgrade items were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd receive the most crucial stats to your build more often than others. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each statistic. This can be either good or bad, based on what you're looking to get from your equipment.
item upgrader upgraded item may also be equipped with a special fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are offered into the standard affixes. The more you improve a product, the better your chances of receiving the bonus of a different kind.
The game also includes number sets that grant the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on an unit. This is a great way to give the character more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment particularly in the beginning stages. This is because rerolling can give players a faster route to becoming a strong character, allowing them to reach high tiers and progress the game faster.
Sets
Sets are groups of elements that can be arranged in a variety of ways. They can have different sizes, have none at all, or contain just one element. They can be used to organize data or organize information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be categorized in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an extensive selection of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that provide high defense and set bonuses. However, most upgrades to weapons don't improve the quality of the item's stats when in comparison to their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade when your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already large.
Set items can be upgraded to include unique tools that are suitable for specific builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).
Upgrades are also possible to bring certain items up to the level of the tiers. For example the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower-level items could increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.
To see if an item is worth upgrading, players should click the Upgrade button in the screen of their character. The item will be displayed with its characteristics, as well as the required items to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade.
